Webcam Not Showing in Your Stream

Your webcam does not appear in the stream: check the camera, the permission and the scene, and bring it back in a few steps.

The short answer

A webcam that does not show is usually not selected in the scene, is in use by another program, or lacks permission. Choose it in the scene, close other camera apps and check the permission.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Open Connections and the Health check. They show what your PC and network can carry before you go live.
  2. Choose a picture quality that the check and the upload test agree on. A steady stream beats a sharp one that stalls.
  3. Turn on Record first so your recording is never missing a moment, and viewers see a smooth stream behind it.
  4. Keep the Lifeline on. When the connection weakens, the stream steps down to a smaller picture instead of freezing.

What to know first

Results depend on your PC and your connection. Streamdzy’s safety systems cover the most common failures, but no app can fix a connection that is down. Run the upload speed test to see your line first.

Questions

Why is the webcam black?

Another program may be using it, or the cable is loose. Close the other program and check the connection.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
