YouTube 1080p Live Settings for Streamdzy

The settings for a 1080p YouTube Live stream from Streamdzy: the bitrate, frame rate and upload speed that keep the picture steady.

The short answer

YouTube publishes its own recommended bitrates for each picture size and frame rate, and they change. Check YouTube’s current guidance, then keep a little upload to spare. Check your upload first and choose the picture quality to match.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Add each platform once under Settings, Go live and paste its stream key. The key is kept encrypted on your PC.
  2. Tick the places you want on and press Go live. Your PC encodes the show once and sends it to each one.
  3. Watch the scene, the chat and the connection in one window. Press a scene or an alert whenever you need it.
  4. Press Stop when you are done. The recording of the whole show is already saved on your PC.

What to know first

Your upload speed is the real limit: every place needs its own copy of your picture. The installer is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not published yet. Run the upload speed test before a long show.

Questions

What is the best bitrate for YouTube Live?

It depends on your upload. A steady 6,000 kbps is safer than a high number that drops frames.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
