Recording Settings Explained

What the recording settings mean for quality, file size and the PC: the picture size, frame rate and profile, in plain words.

The short answer

Picture size is the number of pixels, frame rate is the smoothness, and the profile sets how much the file is squeezed. Higher settings make bigger files and need a stronger PC.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Choose what to record: the whole show, one camera, or the screen. The choice is under Recordings.
  2. Press Record. The finished show and each camera are saved as their own files, written in pieces so a crash loses seconds.
  3. Press Mark at a moment you want to find again. The log keeps those marks next to the files.
  4. Press Stop. The session folder opens with the show, the cameras, your voice and the log.

What to know first

Recordings use your PC’s disk: a long 4K session needs a lot of free space, and Streamdzy stops a recording when the disk is nearly full. Check what your computer can do with the PC test.

Questions

Which recording setting should I choose?

Start with 1080p at 30 frames a second. Move up when the Health check says your PC keeps up.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
