Recording

Record While Streaming to Twitch

Record the show at full quality while you stream to Twitch, so the stream is not your only copy. The recording is kept on your PC.

The short answer

Turn on recording with the stream and press Go live. Twitch gets the stream and your PC keeps the full-quality recording at the same time.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Choose what to record: the whole show, one camera, or the screen. The choice is under Recordings.
  2. Press Record. The finished show and each camera are saved as their own files, written in pieces so a crash loses seconds.
  3. Press Mark at a moment you want to find again. The log keeps those marks next to the files.
  4. Press Stop. The session folder opens with the show, the cameras, your voice and the log.

What to know first

Recordings use your PC’s disk: a long 4K session needs a lot of free space, and Streamdzy stops a recording when the disk is nearly full. Check what your computer can do with the PC test.

Questions

Is my Twitch stream the only copy?

No. The recording on your PC is a separate copy at full quality, and a drop on Twitch does not lose it.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
