Phone streaming

Phone Battery While Streaming

Keep the phone’s battery up while it streams as a camera: plug it in, keep it cool and expect it to warm up.

The short answer

Plug the phone in, keep it out of direct sun, and give it airflow. A phone streaming its picture uses more battery and warms up.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. On the PC press Connect. A code and a QR code appear.
  2. Scan the code with the phone’s camera. The phone’s browser opens Streamdzy’s camera page.
  3. Press Start on the phone. It becomes a camera you can cut to, place and style in the scene.
  4. For the sharpest copy, let the phone keep its own full-quality recording; it is sent to the PC when you stop.

What to know first

A phone is a camera, not a second computer: its battery, heat and camera settings set the picture. Wi-Fi works well; a USB cable gives the steadiest picture. Use the webcam test to check the light.

Questions

Can the phone overheat?

It can warm up over a long stream. Keep it cool and take breaks if it gets hot.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
