Phone Cameras Explained: How They Join and What They Send

How a phone joins Streamdzy as a camera with a code, what it sends over the network and what it keeps on the phone.

The short answer

A phone opens a camera page from a code on your PC and sends its picture as a camera. It keeps its own full-quality recording and sends that file to your PC when you stop.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Find the feature in the app under Settings, or in the scene and go-live controls.
  2. Turn it on, test it with a short private stream or a test recording, and check the result on your own screen.
  3. Save the setup as a scene or a preset, so you can switch to it with one press next time.
  4. Use the pricing page to see how use is counted: every feature is free, and one credit covers 24 hours.

What to know first

Features depend on your PC, your cameras and your connection. The Health check shows what your computer can run before you go live.

Questions

Why is the phone recording better than the stream?

The stream is squeezed to fit your upload. The phone’s own file is kept at full quality.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
