Extensions Explained: Overlays You Control From Your Phone
What extensions are, how they show their controls in the app and on your phone, and how to make your own overlay.
The short answer
An extension is a small web-page overlay with its own buttons. Its controls appear in the app and on your phone, and it is safe because it cannot reach your files, camera or microphone.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Find the feature in the app under Settings, or in the scene and go-live controls.
- Turn it on, test it with a short private stream or a test recording, and check the result on your own screen.
- Save the setup as a scene or a preset, so you can switch to it with one press next time.
- Use the pricing page to see how use is counted: every feature is free, and one credit covers 24 hours.
What to know first
Features depend on your PC, your cameras and your connection. The Health check shows what your computer can run before you go live.
Questions
Can an extension read my files?
No. An extension is a web page, not a program, and it has no access to your files.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
