First Time Streamer Checklist
Everything to check before your first live stream: camera, sound, light, upload speed, the platform key and a test recording.
The short answer
Check your camera and light with the webcam test, your upload with the speed test, and your sound with a test recording. Add your platform key, run a short private stream, and go live.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Add each platform once under Settings, Go live and paste its stream key. The key is kept encrypted on your PC.
- Tick the places you want on and press Go live. Your PC encodes the show once and sends it to each one.
- Watch the scene, the chat and the connection in one window. Press a scene or an alert whenever you need it.
- Press Stop when you are done. The recording of the whole show is already saved on your PC.
What to know first
Your upload speed is the real limit: every place needs its own copy of your picture. The installer is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not published yet. Run the upload speed test before a long show.
Questions
How long should a first test stream be?
Ten minutes is enough to find most problems. Record it and listen back to the sound before the real show.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
