Record Straight to an MP4 File

Turn a recording into an MP4 file that plays on any device, from Streamdzy, with the original kept as well.

The short answer

Choose a session and convert it to MP4 from the recordings list. The original is kept, and the MP4 plays on phones, TVs and most editors.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Choose what to record: the whole show, one camera, or the screen. The choice is under Recordings.
  2. Press Record. The finished show and each camera are saved as their own files, written in pieces so a crash loses seconds.
  3. Press Mark at a moment you want to find again. The log keeps those marks next to the files.
  4. Press Stop. The session folder opens with the show, the cameras, your voice and the log.

What to know first

Recordings use your PC’s disk: a long 4K session needs a lot of free space, and Streamdzy stops a recording when the disk is nearly full. Check what your computer can do with the PC test.

Questions

Does the MP4 replace the original?

No. The MP4 is a new file next to the original.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
