Set Up a Phone Tripod for a Stream

Set up a phone on a tripod for a stream: height, angle and light, then connect it to your PC with the code.

The short answer

Place the tripod at eye height, angle the phone straight on, add light in front, and connect with the code. Test the picture before you go live.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. On the PC press Connect. A code and a QR code appear.
  2. Scan the code with the phone’s camera. The phone’s browser opens Streamdzy’s camera page.
  3. Press Start on the phone. It becomes a camera you can cut to, place and style in the scene.
  4. For the sharpest copy, let the phone keep its own full-quality recording; it is sent to the PC when you stop.

What to know first

A phone is a camera, not a second computer: its battery, heat and camera settings set the picture. Wi-Fi works well; a USB cable gives the steadiest picture. Use the webcam test to check the light.

Questions

What height should the phone be?

At eye height, slightly above, so the picture looks natural.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
