Use Your Phone as a Camera for YouTube Live

Use your phone as a camera for a YouTube Live stream: scan the code, press start, and send the show to YouTube from your PC.

The short answer

Scan the code, press Start on the phone, add it to the scene, and press Go live to YouTube. The phone is one of the cameras in the show.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. On the PC press Connect. A code and a QR code appear.
  2. Scan the code with the phone’s camera. The phone’s browser opens Streamdzy’s camera page.
  3. Press Start on the phone. It becomes a camera you can cut to, place and style in the scene.
  4. For the sharpest copy, let the phone keep its own full-quality recording; it is sent to the PC when you stop.

What to know first

A phone is a camera, not a second computer: its battery, heat and camera settings set the picture. Wi-Fi works well; a USB cable gives the steadiest picture. Use the webcam test to check the light.

Questions

Does the phone need a YouTube account?

No. The phone is only a camera; the account is on the PC.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
