How to go live on LinkedIn from a PC

LinkedIn does not stream from your camera directly. You create the event on LinkedIn, copy a stream URL and key, and send your show from a streaming app.

1. Check you have LinkedIn Live

LinkedIn Live is not on for every account. LinkedIn’s guidance has mentioned conditions such as a follower or connection count, creator mode, a recent history of original posts and no policy problems; the exact rules change. If you see the option to create a live video on your profile or Page, you have it. If not, LinkedIn’s help explains how to ask for a review.

2. Create the event with a custom stream

In LinkedIn’s live tool create a new live video and choose the option to use your own streaming tool (custom RTMP). LinkedIn gives you a stream URL and a stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it can send video to your event.

3. Add it to your app

In Streamdzy open Settings, Go live, pick Other (any RTMP server), paste both and save. Name it LinkedIn.

4. Settings for a talk or webinar

For a person talking, 1080p30 or 720p30 at 3,000 to 4,500 kbps is plenty. Clear sound matters most: check your microphone with the microphone test and turn on the voice cleaner.

5. Go live

Press Go live in the app, wait for the preview in LinkedIn, then start the event there. Press Record as well to keep a full-quality copy for repurposing.

Questions

Can I add a guest?

Use a call tool for the guest and show that window in your stream, or add a second camera. See the multi-camera guide.

Does the key stay the same?

LinkedIn usually creates a new one per event. Copy it each time.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
