Streaming Software for a Low-End PC
Stream from an older or low-end PC: Streamdzy checks what your computer can do and suggests a picture quality that it can keep up with.
The short answer
Run the Health check to see what your PC can encode. Streamdzy then offers a picture size and quality that match it, and record-first mode can smooth out a slow moment in your upload.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Add each platform once under Settings, Go live and paste its stream key. The key is kept encrypted on your PC.
- Tick the places you want on and press Go live. Your PC encodes the show once and sends it to each one.
- Watch the scene, the chat and the connection in one window. Press a scene or an alert whenever you need it.
- Press Stop when you are done. The recording of the whole show is already saved on your PC.
What to know first
Your upload speed is the real limit: every place needs its own copy of your picture. The installer is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not published yet. Run the upload speed test before a long show.
Questions
Will a cheap PC be enough to stream?
It depends on the processor and graphics chip. The Health check measures your computer, so you know before you go live rather than during the show.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
