Stream From a Desktop PC at Home
Stream from a home desktop with a webcam, a microphone and a steady connection, set up once and used every day.
The short answer
Connect your webcam and microphone, pick a scene, add your platform key and go live. A desktop gives the most room for a high picture quality.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Add each platform once under Settings, Go live and paste its stream key. The key is kept encrypted on your PC.
- Tick the places you want on and press Go live. Your PC encodes the show once and sends it to each one.
- Watch the scene, the chat and the connection in one window. Press a scene or an alert whenever you need it.
- Press Stop when you are done. The recording of the whole show is already saved on your PC.
What to know first
Your upload speed is the real limit: every place needs its own copy of your picture. The installer is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not published yet. Run the upload speed test before a long show.
Questions
Is a desktop better than a laptop for streaming?
Usually yes: a desktop has more room to cool its processor and graphics, so it keeps the picture quality steadier.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
