Stop Viewers Buffering on Your Stream
Why viewers buffer on a live stream and the fixes that work: a steady bitrate, a record-first delay, and a relay that hides a dropped connection.
The short answer
Buffering usually means the picture is arriving in bursts. Lower the picture quality to match your upload, and use record first with a relay so a stall is hidden from viewers.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Add each platform once under Settings, Go live and paste its stream key. The key is kept encrypted on your PC.
- Tick the places you want on and press Go live. Your PC encodes the show once and sends it to each one.
- Watch the scene, the chat and the connection in one window. Press a scene or an alert whenever you need it.
- Press Stop when you are done. The recording of the whole show is already saved on your PC.
What to know first
Your upload speed is the real limit: every place needs its own copy of your picture. The installer is for Windows; Mac and Linux builds are not published yet. Run the upload speed test before a long show.
Questions
Is the problem my PC or my internet?
Dropped frames on the PC point to the computer; buffering for viewers points to the upload. The Health check and the upload test tell them apart.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
