Record a Game With Commentary
Record a game with your commentary on its own track and the game sound on another, so you can balance them in the edit.
The short answer
Choose the game sound and your microphone as sources, and record. Check your first test recording to hear how the two are kept before you edit.
How to do it in Streamdzy
- Choose what to record: the whole show, one camera, or the screen. The choice is under Recordings.
- Press Record. The finished show and each camera are saved as their own files, written in pieces so a crash loses seconds.
- Press Mark at a moment you want to find again. The log keeps those marks next to the files.
- Press Stop. The session folder opens with the show, the cameras, your voice and the log.
What to know first
Recordings use your PC’s disk: a long 4K session needs a lot of free space, and Streamdzy stops a recording when the disk is nearly full. Check what your computer can do with the PC test.
Questions
Are the game and commentary on separate tracks?
Your microphone is saved on its own track. Check a test recording to confirm how the game sound is kept.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
