Use Your iPhone as a Webcam for Streaming

Turn your iPhone into a streaming camera with no app to install: scan a code on your PC, press start on the phone, and it is in the scene.

The short answer

Open Streamdzy on your PC, press Connect, and scan the code with the iPhone camera. Safari opens the camera page; press Start and the iPhone is a camera in your scene.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. On the PC press Connect. A code and a QR code appear.
  2. Scan the code with the phone’s camera. The phone’s browser opens Streamdzy’s camera page.
  3. Press Start on the phone. It becomes a camera you can cut to, place and style in the scene.
  4. For the sharpest copy, let the phone keep its own full-quality recording; it is sent to the PC when you stop.

What to know first

A phone is a camera, not a second computer: its battery, heat and camera settings set the picture. Wi-Fi works well; a USB cable gives the steadiest picture. Use the webcam test to check the light.

Questions

Do I need to install an app on my iPhone?

No. The camera page opens in Safari from the code, so there is nothing to install.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
