What Is x264?

x264 is a software encoder that makes very good picture quality, at the cost of more processor work.

The short answer

x264 is a software encoder run by the processor. It can look sharper than hardware encoders at the same bitrate, but it uses more of the processor, which can matter during a game.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Read the definition, then find the same word in Streamdzy: under Settings, in the scene, or on the Go live screen.
  2. Try it in a short test recording or a private stream, so the word means something you have seen.
  3. Read the feature page for it to see the settings, then set it up for your show.
  4. Check the pricing page for how use is counted. Every feature is free.

What to know first

Definitions are general; platforms and tools set their own limits and names, so check each platform’s guidance when a number matters to your show.

Questions
