What Is AV1?

AV1 is a newer video codec that can give a sharper picture at a lower bitrate, but not every platform or device accepts it yet.

The short answer

AV1 can look sharper at the same bitrate, but platform and device support varies. Check a platform’s accepted formats before you choose it.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Read the definition, then find the same word in Streamdzy: under Settings, in the scene, or on the Go live screen.
  2. Try it in a short test recording or a private stream, so the word means something you have seen.
  3. Read the feature page for it to see the settings, then set it up for your show.
  4. Check the pricing page for how use is counted. Every feature is free.

What to know first

Definitions are general; platforms and tools set their own limits and names, so check each platform’s guidance when a number matters to your show.

Questions

Should I stream in AV1?

Only if the platform accepts it. H.264 is the widely accepted choice.

Want all of this in one app?
