Best Camera Angle for Streaming

The camera angle sets how you look on stream. Eye height and a slight above-the-eye angle look most natural.

The short answer

Put the camera at eye height or slightly above, and point it straight at your face. A low angle can look unflattering.

How to do it in Streamdzy

  1. Start with the camera and microphone you already own, and test them in Streamdzy with a short recording.
  2. Add one piece of gear at a time, and check the change in the picture or the sound before buying the next.
  3. Use the webcam test and the microphone test to measure what you have, before you spend money.
  4. Use the Health check to see whether your PC can handle the extra camera.

What to know first

Gear advice is general. Prices and models change. Streamdzy works with any camera or microphone your PC or phone can use.

Questions

Should the camera be above me?

Slightly above is common. Test it in the webcam test.

Want all of this in one app?

Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
