How to stream to Twitch and YouTube at the same time
Going live on several platforms at once is called multistreaming or simulcasting. You have three real options. Here is what each needs, costs and risks.
Before you start: check the rules
Platforms set their own rules for simulcasting, and they change. Twitch, in particular, has had different rules for Partners over time. Read each platform’s current terms before you multistream, and never post to a platform’s chat as if viewers on another platform were in the same room: they are not.
Option 1: send from your PC to each platform
Your streaming software encodes your picture once and sends a copy to every platform. This is what Streamdzy does: add each platform under Settings, Go live, paste its stream key, tick the ones you want on and press Go live.
- Pros: no middleman, no monthly fee for the pipe, your video stays yours.
- Cons: your upload has to carry one copy per platform. Two places at 6 Mbps need about 12 Mbps of upload.
Option 2: a restreaming service
You send one stream to a service (Restream is the best known) and it sends it on. You upload once, but the service handles your video, free plans add a logo or limit channels, and paid plans cost money every month. Prices checked in October 2026 are about $16 to $19 a month for the entry plan.
Option 3: your own relay
A relay is a small server that takes one stream and feeds every platform. With Streamdzy’s Record first the relay runs on your own free Cloudflare account, so you upload once and still keep your video yours. It also lets viewers watch a few seconds behind, so short internet drops never reach them.
How much upload do you need?
Add up the bitrates of every stream, then keep about 30% spare. Use the bitrate calculator, and measure your real upload with the upload speed test.
A tip on quality
Different platforms accept different bitrates (Facebook is lower than YouTube, for example). If you send one encode to all of them, set the bitrate for the weakest platform, or send separate encodes if your PC and upload can carry them.
Questions
Can I chat with viewers on both platforms?
Streamdzy can show chat from Twitch and YouTube on screen and in the app, so you can read both in one place.
Will multistreaming slow my PC?
Encoding once and sending several copies is light on the PC. Encoding separately for each platform is not.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
