How to go live on X from a PC
X lets you broadcast with a streaming app by creating a source in its live tools and pasting the server address and key into your app.
1. Open X’s live tools
X’s help describes a producer tool (Media Studio Producer, with a newer Live Studio rolling out). Open it from your account’s web menu, create a source, pick RTMP and a region close to you. X then shows a server URL and a stream key.
2. Check whether your account can
Some accounts need a paid X subscription to use these tools, and X has changed this before. If the option is missing, check X’s help page for current requirements.
3. Add it to your app
In Streamdzy open Settings, Go live, pick Other (any RTMP server), paste the URL and the key and save.
4. Settings
X’s help asks for H.264 video and AAC audio (up to 128 kbps). It suggests about 9 Mbps for video with 12 Mbps as the most it accepts, but for most shows 1080p30 at 4,500 to 6,000 kbps looks good and is easier on your upload. X also notes that RTMP connections here have no sign-in, so the key is the only protection: keep it private.
5. Go live
Press Go live in the app, check the preview in X’s producer, then create or start the broadcast from the source. Press Record too so you keep the full-quality file.

Checked October 2026. Platforms change their rules, so confirm in the platform’s own help before relying on a detail here.
Questions
Do I need to be verified?
It depends on X’s current rules for live tools. Check X’s help page; the requirements have changed more than once.
Can I stream to X and Twitch together?
Yes. Add both as destinations and they get the same stream.
