How to stream on Facebook Live from a PC
Facebook takes a stream from any app that sends RTMPS. You copy a key from Live Producer, paste it into your streaming app and press go.
1. Open Live Producer
On Facebook choose Live video for your profile or Page, then pick Streaming software. Facebook shows a stream key (and sometimes a server address). Depending on how you create the post, the key may work once or stay valid for a while. Always copy the one on screen.
2. Add Facebook to your app
In Streamdzy open Settings, Go live, pick Facebook, paste the key and save. The server address is filled in. The key is kept encrypted on your PC. In other apps choose a custom service and paste the address and key.
3. Settings Facebook likes
Facebook’s developer guide lists H.264 video, AAC audio (128 kbps is fine), a keyframe about every 2 seconds (never more than 4) and, for 1080p, roughly 3,000 to 6,000 kbps at 30 fps or 4,500 to 9,000 kbps at 60 fps. Use the bitrate calculator and keep a third of your upload spare. Streamdzy sets the keyframe interval for you.
4. Go live
Press Record to keep a full-quality copy, then Go live. Facebook shows a preview in Live Producer; press its own Go live button when the preview looks right. When you finish, end the post on Facebook and press Stop in the app.
If it will not connect
- Key rejected: it may have expired or been used. Create the live post again and copy the new key.
- Preview never appears: check that the date and time on your PC are right and that nothing on your network blocks the connection.
- Choppy picture: lower the bitrate or follow the no-lag checklist.

Questions
Can I stream to Facebook and YouTube together?
Yes. Add both under Go live and they receive the same stream. See multistream.
Is the stream key permanent?
Not always. Facebook can issue a key for one live post. Copy the key each time unless Facebook tells you it is persistent.
Want all of this in one app?
Streamdzy is a free streaming and recording app for Windows: several cameras, your phone as a camera, going live to many places at once, and recording first so a bad connection never costs you the show.
