Fuidzy vs Evernote: check what you're still paying for

Evernote invented modern note-taking and remains strong at web clipping and document scanning. But the free plan is now limited to one device, and the paid plan runs about $10.99 a month — more than Notion. If it's a habit rather than a love, it's worth a fresh look.

What Evernote is genuinely great at

Capture and retrieval of documents. Clipping a web page, scanning a receipt, and finding it four years later still works well, and search inside images is genuinely useful. Two decades of reliability is not nothing.

Where it falls down

The value equation moved. A one-device free tier is restrictive in a world where Apple Notes, Google Keep, Obsidian and Notion all offer generous free plans, and $10.99 a month is a real amount of money for a filing cabinet.

Like the rest of the notes category, it also has nothing to say about when you're going to do any of it.

How Fuidzy is different

We're not a filing cabinet and won't pretend to replace one. What we'd suggest is auditing the subscription — if Evernote is mostly storing things you never reopen, that's $130 a year that could be doing nothing instead, which is strictly better.

The verdict

Use Evernote if clipping and scanning are core to your work and the search genuinely earns its keep.

Otherwise — Obsidian or Apple Notes for free capture, and Fuidzy for the day. That combination costs nothing.

Fuidzy is a free timeline planner. No install, no setup, no credit card.
