A UVR Alternative
Updated October 2026
UVR (Ultimate Vocal Remover) is free and runs on your computer, but it asks you to choose models and settings. If you want a simpler route on your PC, look at an app that runs the steps for you.
The short version
- UVR is free and desktop-based, aimed at technical users.
- Good results depend on choosing models and settings.
- Tunedzy runs the vocal separation and the finishing steps in one app.
- Tunedzy is not free for the Windows app; it runs on credits.
What UVR is good at
UVR is free, runs on your computer, and gives you control over the models. It suits people who enjoy testing settings and want to choose the model for each song.
Where it asks more of you
Choosing a model and its settings takes time, and the best one changes from song to song. Beginners often find the choice hard to judge.
Where Tunedzy fits
Tunedzy runs the separation on your PC with its own settings, then cleans, levels and mixes the voice in the same app. You do not need to choose models. The Windows app uses credits; the phone app, Tunedzy Go, is free but does not separate songs.
Which to pick
For free control and model testing, UVR. For a simpler route on your PC that finishes the voice too, Tunedzy. Use either only with music you have the right to use.
Separate and finish on your PC
Tunedzy separates the vocal on your PC and finishes the voice in one app, with Before and After.
