Tunedzy Repair
Updated October 2026
Repair is Tunedzy’s set of targeted fixes: flat-topped clipping, clicks and crackle, mains hum, and DC offset. It runs before the cleanup and reports what it changed.
Flat-topped sections of a waveform are found and rebuilt from the curve around them. The repair works at the file’s own sample rate, so a 48 kHz phone file is repaired correctly. Heavy clipping cannot be rebuilt reliably.
Short spikes that stand out from the voice are replaced with the sound around them. Use the lowest setting that removes them.
Mains hum at 50 or 60 Hz and its harmonics is notched out. The hum guide explains the method.
A DC offset shifts the wave away from zero, and it can make a file look louder than it sounds. It is removed.
Repair runs before the cleanup in Perfect it, and tells you what it changed.
It changes only the faults it finds. Compare Before and After.
It found flat tops in the waveform. Repair rebuilds what it can.
It fixes most short clicks. Recurring clicks point to a fault to fix at source.
