Step 1: Find the key
Use the key finder on the beat, so the pitch tool knows which notes are allowed.
Step 2: Set a natural retune speed
A slow to medium speed lets the note glide into place. A very fast speed snaps notes instantly, which gives the hard, robotic effect people hear on purpose in some styles.
Step 3: Fix the worst notes, not every note
- Listen for the notes that sound clearly wrong.
- Correct those, and leave the rest as sung.
- Keep the vibrato: lower the amount of correction on held notes.
Step 4: Listen in the mix
Judge the result with the beat playing. A small error that no one hears in the mix does not need fixing.
Limits
Pitch correction cannot fix a performance that is far off or a note sung in a wrong rhythm. Re-record the line if it is very far from the key.

Frequently asked questions
Why does tuned vocal sound robotic?
Usually a very fast retune speed on every note. Slow it down and fix only what needs fixing.
What if I do not know the key?
Use the free key finder on the beat, then set the pitch tool to it.
Does tuning change my voice?
Used lightly, it moves notes into pitch without changing the tone.
